Screening
Doclab hosts regular weekday afternoon screenings of both experimental films and video art series, and bi-monthly screenings of feature documentary and independent films in the large screening room at the Goethe Institute. Doclab members and guests occasionally hold informal afternoon seminars on areas of personal cinematic interests and research
Library
Including classical and contemporary documentaries, experimental films and video art, books on film theory and criticism, filmmaking and history of video art
Workshops
Including basic and advanced documentary filmmaking courses and short- term workshops such as camera, sound, editing, production and post-production. International professionals are often invited to give workshops at Doclab
Visiting artists
Vietnamese and visiting international filmmakers, video artists and researchers hold periodic special screenings, seminars, workshops and discussions
Production
Doclab produces videos and films for a wide range of local and international clients. We also provides production, post-production and screening equipment to support our students, visiting artists, and member filmmakers. We help connecting local filmmakers with international production companies. Our productions have been selected in many film festivals all over the world
Festivals
Doclab and Goethe Insitut Hanoi co-host the annual Mini Docfest - the one and only documentary & experimental film festival in Vietnam. We bring Vietnamese and international independent films to the audiences, hold seminars and short-term workshops
